Lorna believes the most powerful aspect of counseling is the trust between client and counselor and prides herself on building a therapeutic relationship with her clients.
She integrates evidence-based practices, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy
Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Lorna approaches every client from a person-centered perspective, meeting them wherever they may be on their healing journey and walking with them as they progress at their own pace. Lorna loves to help clients unravel the source of their presenting issue(s) through a psychodynamic lens of their childhood experiences and family dynamics while also considering multicultural and environmental factors.
You will also find Lorna is a strong advocate for her clients. She has experience working in various social service agencies, educational settings, and mental health organizations, giving Lorna extensive knowledge of how each system operates and intertwines with one another.
